Sip, stroll, and savor fine wine at the Summertime Sip Festival on May 31 in downtown Albemarle! Formerly the Stanly County Winter Wine Fest, this event features North Carolina wineries and vineyards, food trucks, artisan crafts, music, and more! All proceeds support Albemarle Downtown's mission of downtown beautification and small business grants.
City of Locust Movie Nights will feature blockbusters and classics (PG to R rated) popular among adults. These may include beer and wine vendors, in addition to food vendors. All movies are located behind Locust City Hall, start at sundown, and usually host pre-show activities, so not all start times are the same. A worldwide celebration of music!  Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year! And in 2025.... it will happen in Stanly County.
