Carolina Kayak Anglers (CKA) Â will be holding a kayak bass fishing tournament at Lake Tillery on March 8, 2025! With both a regular 5 fish limit as well as a separate CKA Hourly Big Bass side event at the same time! The events have a $50 and $25 entry fee respectively. Club members will also be competing for points for the Angler of the Year and Rookie of the Year. CKA holds numerous regular season events that are open for anyone to enter and fish from a kayak, and this is the first of two stops in Stanly County this year. The Stanly County Historical Society invites the public to a Free program by award-winning author, speaker, and storyteller Randell Jones. Come hear about the perilous marking of Boone Trace into Kentucky 250 years ago in the spring of 1775, just before the American Revolution. Also, hear the story that made Daniel Boone internationally famous in his lifetime as we follow his footprints across a remarkable 86 years and over wilderness terrain that became eleven states.
Ag Day 2025 is a celebration of Stanly County and the surrounding area's rich history of agriculture and farming as an industry and a way of life. This event also celebrates those who have been involved with the Agri-Civic Center, and now the Farm Bureau Livestock Arena, since it's founding, including local arts organizations, educational programs, as well as the programs and services provided by the offices within the Center. There will be vendors, food trucks, livestock shows, tractors, and more! Come on out and join us for a FREE and lively celebration of arts and agriculture!
A FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. Student Art Show: Come view the county-wide student art show, showcasing the best from each elementary, middle, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising, graphic design, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. Artisans: a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations. See below for demonstrating artists. Information Booths: Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers. Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons, etc. See below for full list of exhibitors. Live Performances: Performances from choirs, bands, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby. See poster below for schedule. Friends of the Stanly County Senior Center will be hosting their annual Craft Show on Saturday, March 29th from 9am-1pm. They will have a Hot Dog Sale along with a Bake Sale. All proceeds go back to the Friends of the Senior Center who support programs, activities and services for the Stanly County Senior Services.
The Stanly County Chorale will present music from over 50 years of Tony award-winning Broadway musicals.
