Hands on Locust is an event that gives kids the opportunity to see a variety of service vehicles. This event is free and open to the public. We invite local businesses with service related vehicles and equipment to participate in this event. Trucks, tractors, emergency vehicles, commercial vehicles, equipment, and training resources are all welcome! 9:00-10:00 AM will be a sensory hour for those who may be sensitive to lights and sounds. During this time, all participating vehicles will be asked to refrain from the use of lights and sirens. Also, a limited number of noise blocking headphones will be available during the whole event from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, but please feel free to bring your own as well. Starting at 10:00 AM, lights and sirens will be allowed. Do you own a truck, tractor, or equipment and would like to participate? Fun filled day if immersing yourself in Highland culture. We’ll have pipe and drum corps, Celtic music, both Scottish and Irish dance troop performances, Clan tents, vendors, Highland Cows, and raptor demonstrations. Food and drink trucks will also be on site.

Sip, stroll, and savor fine wine at the Summertime Sip Festival on May 31 in downtown Albemarle! Formerly the Stanly County Winter Wine Fest, this event features North Carolina wineries and vineyards, food trucks, artisan crafts, music, and more! All proceeds support Albemarle Downtown's mission of downtown beautification and small business grants.

The Singing Americans of Stanly County have been sharing patriotic concerts in Stanly County for nearly 50 years.  This year's program is titled Freedom! and includes many familiar patriotic songs.  This concert will be our kick off of America's 250th Anniversary with a focus on those who have given their lives to create and preserve the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.  Come join us to be inspired.
