When it comes to advertising the Visit Stanly name, there’s only so much three people can do from the comfort of our Albemarle office. That’s why we enlist the help of you, some of Stanly County’s finest, in the form of free t-shirts, koozies, wine glasses, and more. Some of you perform your free advertising responsibilities better than we ever could. You wear your Visit Stanly shirts on vacation, or pull out a Visit Stanly koozie at an out-of-town wedding, or keep a Visit Stanly pen in your car. From those of us at Visit Stanly, we are extremely grateful for those of you that take our name with you.

Such is the case for Matthew Irvin, a Norwood-based photographer who, together with his trusty companion “Photo Dog” Jackson, travels across the U.S. to various state parks and historical landmarks with our magnets slapped to the side of his pickup truck. The magnets, which measure 48 in. x 8 in. and feature a picture of the view from the top of Morrow Mountain as the background, have printed across in large, black letters and can be placed on the sides or across the back of a vehicle.

Thanks to Matt and Jackson’s adventures, has been seen by people in places that we would never be able to reach with a Facebook video. Without Matt’s willingness to ride around with our name on the side of his truck, probably never would’ve made it to Yellowstone or Mt. Rushmore, to name a few. The full list of states and landmarks Matt and Jackson have visited is much lengthier:

We look forward to hearing about where they go next and we are extremely grateful they continue to take the name with them!
